Wise Men Still Seek Him

Wise Men Still Seek Him What is the most important thing to remember about the wise men? The wise men were “wise” because they sought Jesus.

They were interested in Jesus—this is a mark of wisdom! Matt. 2:1. They weren’t just “interested,” they cared enough to search for Jesus. Matt. 2:2, 8.

They followed the light that they had (a star), Matt. 2:1-2. They endured inconvenience and lack of information while searching for Him.

They asked questions in their search and trusted they would find Jesus, Matt 2:2; 7:7. They were willing to pay whatever it cost to find Him, and sought until they found Him (they were committed and did not give up).

Finding Jesus filled them with joy and happiness, Matt. 2:10. See also Luke 2:10, 14. When they found Jesus they worshipped Him—that’s what they came to do (Matt. 2:2, 2:11; 4:10; John 4:24) and brought Him precious gifts, fit for King Jesus (Matt. 2:11).

They continued to obey God’s word as they returned home, Matt. 2:12. See Matt. 28:18-20. The wise men demonstrated great faith throughout all this time. See Heb. 11:6; Matt. 7:7.

The wise men sought Jesus! Are you as wise as they? Are you continuing to seek Jesus?

Do you believe? John 8:24. Have you repented of sins? Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 2:38. Have you confessed the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior? Acts 8:37. Have you been buried with Christ in baptism for remission of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit? Acts 2:38; 5:32. See Acts 22:16. Are you continuing to serve Him? I Cor. 15:58. Are you wise or otherwise?
