The Bible teaches us three different kinds of daily giving: Giving, Forgiving, and Thanksgiving! Since Thanksgiving is upon us, let’s think about how often we are thankful. Jesus cleansed 10 lepers but only ONE came back and offered
thanksgiving!
Jesus expressed thanks before thousands of people, (John 6:10-11, Luke 22:19). Paul gave thanks (Acts 27:35; Phil. 1:3; I Thess. 5:16-17) even when he was imprisoned wrongfully, Acts 16:25.
Many of us will celebrate Thanksgiving by enjoying the traditional meal of turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie—truly a feast for which to be thankful. But with a positive attitude and a thankful heart every day can be Thanksgiving. “A merry heart hath a continual feast,” Proverbs 15:15; and “in everything give thanks,” Col. 4:2; Phil 4:6!
Let us give thanks for God who loves us, John 3:16; the Bible that guides us, II Tim 3:16; Jesus Christ who died for our sins, and His church, Colossians 1:3; our victory over death because of Christ, I Cor. 15:57; our country, our measure
of health; our families; a good wife, Prov. 31:10-30; a good husband; obedient children (or even if they are disobedient, we can be thankful for them and pray for their change of heart); jobs; educational opportunities; and much, much
more.
Thanksgiving means thanks living—not just in November, but make every day THANKSGIVING DAY.
God has given us so much to be thankful for, what are you planning to give God back?
The Psalmist exclaimed, “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” Psa. 116:12. My wish for you is a very Happy Thanksgiving as a Christian where every day is thanksgiving day!
