The religious world contradicts Jesus and the Bible writers when they say you are saved by faith only or that your good works will get you to heaven. We are saved by God’s grace, but God requires both faith AND works. Many people believe that James 2:17-26 is the only scripture that talks about “faith and works.” However…
1. Compare with JESUS! – faith and works (obedience and baptism), Matt 7:21-23; John 3:3-5, 36. Belief is a called a “work of God,” John 6:28-29. See also John 8:31-32; Mark 16:16; Matt 7:24-29.
2. Apostle Paul – faith and works (obedience) – Eph 2:8-9; Col 2:12 (baptism is called a “work of God”) see also Gal 5:6; 3:26-27; Rom 6:16-17; 10:10, 16-17; Titus 3:4-5.
3. Apostle John – faith and works (obedience) – I John 4:19 and John 8:31-32; 14:15.
4. Apostle Peter – faith and works (obedience) – Acts 2:38; 22:16; and I Peter 3:20-21.
5. Hebrew Writer – faith and works (obedience) – Heb 5:8-9; 10:22; 11:1, 6, 7, 8, 17.
6. James – faith and works (obedience) – Jam 2:17, 19-20, 24-26. NOT by faith alone, see Jam 2:17-26.
* Absolute agreement with all the Bible writers and Jesus.
* Absolutely no contradictions.
* Jesus warns against the teaching and traditions of men.
