Next Monday is Labor Day, a time to celebrate the contribution that workers make to this country.
If every worker would follow Bible principles at their jobs—bosses as well as employees, this country
would have a fantastically productive society.
“Not slothful in business,” Romans 12:11. Know the state or condition of your enterprise—“Be
thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds,” Prov. 27:23.
Work or starve—“If any would not work, neither should he eat,” II Thess. 3:10.
The diligent become rich—“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the
diligent maketh rich,” Prov.10:4.
The ant is used as an example—“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways and be wise . . .[the ant] provideth her meat in the summer and gathereth her food in the harvest,” Prov. 6:6-8.
