Do not always follow your heart… Why?
It is not in man that walks to direct his own steps, Jer 10:23
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately
wicked… Jeremiah 17:9.
They do always err in their evil heart of unbelief, Heb 3:10-12.
God promises a new heart — Clean heart, Ezek 11:19.
David saw the need for a CLEAN HEART and right spirit, Psa 51:10.
I. INTELLECT

2. Understands, Mt 13:15; Dan
10:12; Does not understand
when hardened, John 12:40
3. Believes, Rom 10:9-10; see

Speaks, Rom 10:6
5. The heart can lie, Acts 5:3
II. WILL
1. Determines, I Cor 7:37
2. Intends, Heb 4:12
3. Purposes, Acts 11:23
4. Obeys, Rom 6:17
5. Rebellion & Stubbornness
are not God’s will but are
sins as idolatry and witchcraft. See I Sam 15:22-23
6. Our will leads us to baptism
& walking in light, Acts 2:38
III. EMOTIONS
1. Despises, II Sam 6:16
2. Desires, Rom 10:1; Loves, Mt
22:37 and Trusts, Prov 3:5
3. Love in heart by Holy spirit,
Rom 5:1-5
4. Heart rejoices, Acts2:26; Ecc11:9
and sorrows, Rom9:3; Ecc11:10
but can be comforted, Col 2:2
5. Pricked in heart (guilt) and
needs to repent, Acts 2:37
IV. CONSCIENCE (Knowledge
with ourselves)- I John 3:20-21
1. Good conscience but
wrong, Acts 23:1
2. Conscience condemns,
John 8:9
3. False conscience, I Cor 8:7
4. Good conscience is found in
water baptism, I Pet 3:20-21
JESUS said we must seek to LOVE God
with ALL OUR HEART, Matthew 22:37.
To be happy and follow Him is to obey Him, John 13:17; 14:15.
